Meet our Stourbridge Mediators

Mandy Nardiello - Family Mediator - Stourbridge

Mandy is a qualified family and community mediator with over five years' experience, providing mediation services in Stourbridge and across the West Midlands.

She is experienced in working directly with children, both as part of the mediation process and in wider family support roles. Before becoming a mediator, Mandy spent 13 years as a Home-Start Co-ordinator, supporting families facing a wide range of complex challenges and working closely with both parents and children.

Mandy has also held several voluntary roles, including as a Nightstop mediator supporting parents and teenagers, a child worker with Noah's Ark Family Bereavement Service, and a support worker within women's refuges.

With a calm, compassionate approach, Mandy combines active listening with a range of mediation techniques to help families communicate more effectively and reach practical, lasting agreements. She recognises that every family is unique and tailors her approach to meet the individual needs of each client.

Svitlana Stadnyk - Family mediator

Svitlana is an experienced family mediator dedicated to helping separating couples find practical, constructive solutions. Before moving into mediation, she managed a national distribution company, but her desire to make a meaningful difference in people's lives led her to pursue a career in family mediation in 2015. Supporting families to reach positive agreements during difficult times remains at the heart of her work.

Her commitment to the profession led her to co-found the Association for Family Mediators of Ukraine. In 2019, she expanded her expertise by training in cross-border family mediation, enabling her to assist families involved in international disputes, including cases relating to child abduction and cross-border parenting arrangements. In 2022, she completed her family mediation training in the UK and is continuing to work towards full accreditation.

Fluent in English, Ukrainian, and Russian, Svitlana is able to support clients from a wide range of backgrounds. She provides a calm, impartial, and respectful environment where separating couples can discuss arrangements for their children, finances, future communication, and co-parenting. Her focus is on helping clients improve communication, make informed decisions together, and reach agreements that enable them to move forward with confidence.

How can family mediation help me?

At our Stourbridge mediation office, we help couples and families work through the issues that arise when relationships break down, whether you are married, living together, separated, have never lived together, or were in a civil partnership.

At the end of the mediation process, you will receive a written summary of the agreements you have reached together voluntarily. Your mediator will guide discussions, encourage constructive communication, and help you explore your options, but the decisions will always remain yours.
At our Stourbridge mediation office, we provide a cost-effective and practical alternative to court proceedings and prolonged legal disputes. Family mediation can help you resolve issues more quickly, with less stress and expense than traditional court-based solutions.

We understand that separation can be a difficult and emotional time. When communication becomes challenging, making important decisions together can feel overwhelming. Family mediation offers a calm, impartial space where you can discuss your concerns, explore options, and work towards agreements that are practical and acceptable for everyone involved, without the added cost, delay, and conflict often associated with court proceedings.

What are the benefits to our Mediation?

Improve communication and reduce conflict during separation.
Make fair, practical decisions together, with both people having an equal voice.
Keep the needs of your children at the centre of discussions, helping you reach agreements that support their wellbeing.
Find mutually acceptable solutions without the stress and expense of court proceedings.
Reach agreements more quickly than through traditional legal routes, helping you move forward sooner.

Confidentiality

Mediation is a confidential process. We will not give information to your legal or other advisers, or to any other third parties, without obtaining your joint permission. There are, however, two exceptions to this confidentiality.

The first would be where you, or any other person (most particularly a child) is at risk of serious harm. In these exceptional circumstances, we would take the necessary action to safeguard/protect the child or adult concerned, in line with both the Family Mediation Council and the College of Mediators’ Codes of Practice.

The second is where we are required to make disclosure to the appropriate government authorities under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, and/or the relevant money laundering regulations.

Affiliations

All our mediators are individual members of the College of Mediators, www.collegeofmediators.co.uk, who are members of the Family Mediation Council.

All our mediators are members and they are all required to undertake regular training to maintain our high professional standards and update their practice. In addition some mediators are members of other recognised organisations.

Our mediators are professional, experienced and independent. They are registered with the Family Mediation Council (FMC) as FMC Accredited Family Mediators (FMCA) for family and child arrangements, which authorises us to conduct Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings – MIAMs.

File Storage

We will return any original documents requested during mediation to you as soon as we can. Mediation files are securely stored electronically at the main office and confidentially destroyed six months after the case closure date (the last contact with the mediator). In financial cases the mediator will destroy any sensitive financial material as soon as they have completed a financial schedule. Once a file has been destroyed, any further contact will be considered a new referral and case.

Complaints and Compliments

We welcome constructive comments about the service we provide, and we also periodically seek the views of a sample of users. A copy of our complaints procedure is available on request.
